Program Management Support
A solid and disciplined approach to program management is paramount to virtually any successful effort. Attention to the schedule of activities and milestones, quality of products and services, resource usage, cost control, communication strategies, and risk mitigation are all the responsibility of the Project Manager or a Program Management Office (PMO).
Too often, the project/program management function is taken for granted, and people that are familiar with a particular program are placed in a leadership role without having the requisite skills or training in project/program management.
As is the case for quality assurance, investing properly in the right project/program management team that has demonstrated experience successfully managing other projects similar in size and complexity will yield tremendous benefits that far outweigh the cost. And the opposite is also true – a project/program management team that is not qualified will often experience schedule delays, cost overruns, substandard performance, low employee morale, and a host of other problems."Project/program management is a discipline like any other – to be good at it, one must be trained in it."
We support Program Management Offices and all project management initiatives – externally for clients and internally for our own projects - by consistently applying sound project management principles.

PME’s approach to program and project management leverages the best practices offered by traditional management disciplines to deliver a seamless, pragmatic approach to achieving project success. These processes and tools are based on widely accepted principles, such as those described within the Project Management Institute’s (PMI’s) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
PME recognizes the importance of activities surrounding project planning, controlling, and reporting. Some common practices we employ include:
- maintenance of the project plan and schedule
- development and delivery of status reports
- scheduling, facilitating, and documenting status meetings
- monitoring the completion and quality of tasks and deliverables
- identifying and reporting issues, risks and mitigation strategies
- management of change control matters
- communicating frequently and thoroughly to stakeholders
Inherent in PME’s approach is a strict and honest assessment of client service quality. PME has personnel on staff who are certified as Project Management Professionals (PMP) through PMI.
