PME dedicates the right people to the right projects. Below are brief bios of some of our key personnel.
Marc D. Berson is the President of Practical Management Envisioneering (PME). He has 26 years experience as a program director, practitioner and instructor of organizational efficiency, procurement, work measurement, business process improvement, business case analysis, performance management, staffing/workforce modeling, performance-based requirements determination, and related management improvement initiatives. Applying six sigma, industrial engineering and statistics principles and techniques, Mr. Berson has directed study teams in data collection and analysis for many organizations (large and small) including Federal, State and Local levels of government, as well as other entities. He has reengineered processes and determined appropriate staffing to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity for a large variety of levels and functions in countless organizations.
Mr. Berson is a subject matter expert and instructor in the entire life cycle of procurement – from procurement strategy to solicitation development to contract administration to quality assurance. He also specializes in alternative methods of sourcing (e.g., outsourcing, competitive sourcing, strategic sourcing, shared service agreements, multi-sector workforce analysis, etc.), survey instruments, cost analysis, benchmarking, best practice analysis, etc. He has provided training to hundreds of govern-ment personnel and previously served as the Director of Sourcing and Acquisition Management at Grant Thornton LLP. He has served as a Director for the Institute of Industrial Engineers, and as a News Editor within the Society of Work Science. He holds Six Sigma Black Belt (SSBB) through the American Society of Quality (ASQ). He has a Masters of Engineering Administration and a BS in Commerce and Engineering.
John C. Davis is an Executive Consultant with Practical Management Envisioneering (PME) who has 28 years of relevant experience in management, consulting and instruction. In his most recent role, Mr. Davis has lent expertise to the process of designing organizational structure to support the realization of long-term strategic business objectives. Using an evidence-based approach toward facilitating executive decision-making processes, Mr. Davis has employed qualitative and quantitative analyses to create credible user-friendly business intelligence. This approach typically includes survey-based data collection methods that surface the needs of all stakeholder groups.
Mr. Davis has also facilitated Problem Resolution Teams (PRTs) with the purpose of helping clients identify improvement opportunities, develop feasible solutions, and implement changes that have a substantial positive impact on increasing efficiency, improving service delivery and reducing costs. His skill set includes organizational modeling, executive coaching, training development and delivery, predictive statistical analysis, and creating a shared vision of organizational objectives at every level of the organization. In the role of Executive Coach, Mr. Davis has coached and mentored executives from Fortune 100 companies, as well as smaller proprietorships. Mr. Davis also demonstrates subject matter expertise in all aspects of Marketing Communications. He is proficient in developing procurement strategies, evaluating sourcing options, and creating communication plans to create the buy-in needed to support organizational change.
Prior to joining PME, Mr. Davis served in a variety of Executive roles in Marketing and Operations with Marriott International (MI). He has led efforts involving Customer service, leadership development, brand development, creating organizational benchmarks, business process engineering, revenue management, quantitative analysis, and owner relations. John has written and implemented training curriculum on a wide variety of subjects. He has been a featured speaker at the American Society of Association Executive events. He has also served on the Renaissance Hotels North American Leadership Initiative, and MI’s Global Sales Transformation Leadership Council. Mr. Davis holds a BS degree in Management.
