Process Re-engineering / Efficiency Improvement

Process Reengineering / Efficiency Improvement

Process Reengineering and Efficiency Improvement are centered on determining the best way to accomplish work requirements within an organization or function.

The goals are usually to improve performance, boost service delivery, increase productivity, reduce waste or lower costs or some combination thereof. We believe that this requires thinking “out-of-the-box”, being creative, and being inquisitive.

To improve processes, utilization and efficiency, PME employs a number of approaches such as Workflow Charting and Analysis, Business Process Reengineering (BPR), Lean Six Sigma (LSS), Facility/Resource Utilization, Best Practices Analysis, etc.

"One must resist the temptation to succumb to DILLY - doing it like last year.”

PME often uses a blend of techniques to include workshops, interviews, surveys, research, time estimation, cost estimation, and risk assessment. We have Industrial Engineers and Management Analysts on staff. We also have personnel certified as Six Sigma Black Belts (SSBB) who are experts in efficiency analytics and statistics.

Process reengineering and other improvements inevitably leads to change in an organization … and change can be very difficult for many people which is why those initiating change are often met with resistance. PME understands that the challenges associated with process reengineering are not only technical. Indeed, there is also a psychological component that must be addressed in order for significant changes to be successfully sustained. PME’s personnel are especially sensitive to this and work closely with leadership on appropriate communication strategies with the workforce.
